STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Haunted House
Our Haunted House will be held at the Keauhou Shopping Center this year on October 24 and 25. We will begin planning immediately for this event. Our first meeting will be on Thursday, October 2 immediately after school. The meeting should last about half an hour. We'll mostly be finding out who is interested in helping with the Haunted House, and going over the necessary paperwork. See Mr. Jeff Gourley if you're interested in participating.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

VballDance Class
For the third year in a row our school is pleased to have the opportunity to offer an after school dance instruction program under the instruction of local performer Priscilla Basque. In the last two years students have enjoyed great success under her instruction and look forward to another fun filled year of performances in 2008/09. Space is still available in this fast paced performance class. Students who are interested should stop by the school office or the student activities office to pick up the after school program application or download an application from our website. Classes are held Monday, Wednesday and Thursday in our school's Band classroom in C-1 until 4:00.

ASTAR
Kealakehe Intermediate School is proud to continue to offer the ASTAR After School Instructional Program to our students. This program, under the instruction of Mrs. Peterson, meets Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.  It is designed to assist students with current classroom assignments as well as provide supplemental instruction in areas with which students may be having difficulty.  Spaces are still available and additional classes may be scheduled based on demand. If you or your student think this program may be right for you, please fill out an After School Program Application and turn it in to the program's coordinator, Mr. Jeff Gourley. Applications are available in our school’s main office, the Student Activities Office and on the school’s website. If you have any questions about this or any of our other after school programs, please contact Mr. Gourley.

This program is funded by the Office Of Youth Services and accepts students from all backgrounds at no charge. Programs are held both during the school day and after school on our campus.

Le`a Le`a Na `Opio
This is a community program organized by the Salvation Army of Kona and the Kealakehe Neighborhood Watch. The focus is on providing positive activities for youth outside of school hours by teaching students native cultures and values.
